When you move around, how do you monitor your movement and maintain a sense of your current position and trajectory? We are using MRI to examine several regions of the brain that are key to this process. In particular we are studying the properties of a region known as CSv that was discovered in our lab and may feed sensory information about on-going self-motion to the medial motor system. We are concerned mainly with visual cues to self-motion but also with how visual and vestibular cues interact.
