I am interested in the omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
and their efficacy in reducing subclinical levels of anxiety and depression in generally healthy young adults who are not eligible for pharmacotherapy
or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I am also interested in the effects of EPA and DHA on
a. cognitive outcomes affected in anxious and depressive states,
b. functional connectivity between regions in the brain implicated in the control of emotion and mood, and c. concentration of neurotransmitters.
